We see the name and Bluetooth logo on virtually every device we own .
Story behind the name is epic, literally.
It may sound farfetched but It is a stroke of a genius, in my opinion.
Do leave your thoughts and share such stories if you are aware of any.
Here goes:
Bluetooth is named after a 10th-century Scandinavian king. Harald "Blatand" Gormsson was a Viking king who ruled Denmark and Norway from the year 958 until 985.
His greatest achievement was unifying Norway and Denmark. Gormsson is accredited for having an exceptional tooth, which became its nickname, Blatand, or "Bluetooth."
Scaled down 1996, right around the time of tech discussions, an Intel rep named Jim Kardash suggested that Bluetooth might be a reference to the Scandinavian countries prior to unification, or that it could be like the ruler who united Scandinavia.
